Around 60 airlines offer direct flights from and to Hamburg Airport, making Hamburg accessible from approximately 130 national and international cities and more than 40 countries without changing planes.

The Airport is located in the Northern part of the city, in the district of Fuhlsbüttel. You can find your flight connection on the Hamburg Airport website.

Travel from the airport to the Hamburg Fair site is by S-Bahn (rapid transit train), Line S1, which takes about 25 minutes; or by taxi, which takes about 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

The taxi ride from the airport to the fair takes about 20 minutes and costs about 30 - 35 EUR. There is no fixed taxi price. To get back to the airport, you should allow enough time during rush hours or change to public transport.

East Entrance:
  • Take S1 at Hamburg Airport until Hauptbahnhof
  • Transfer at Hauptbahnhof to S2 or S5 and get off at Dammtor (Messe/CCH)
  • The East entrance is a 12-minute walk away
Central Entrance:
  • Take S1 at Hamburg Airport until Jungfernstieg
  • Transfer at Jungfernstieg to U2 and get off at Messehallen
  • The Central Entrance is a 5-minute walk away
South Entrance
  • Take S1 at Hamburg Airport until Jungfernstieg
  • Transfer at Jungfernstieg to U2 and get off at Messehallen
  • The South Entrance is a 2-minute walk away
West Entrance
  • Take S1 at Hamburg Airport until Barmbek
  • Transfer at Barmbek to U3 and get off at Sternschanze (Messe)
  • The West Entrance is a 5-minute walk away
